This still life painting is a collection of nature found in my garden and placed on my window sill. I chose nature that perked my interest and made me pause in my busy life to appreciate how beautiful and fascinating each specimen was. It includes a sprig of douglas fir with two pinecones, licorice fern with the roots attached, a dried ginkgo leaf, bright green moss, turkey tail fungi and a dried oak leaf.
The piece is created with watercolour and graphite pencil on Arches cotton paper (140lb). It celebrates the beauty of winter and the simple joys that nature offers us which are often missed when we are busy living in a modern world.
This painting has gorgeous details including rich colours and expressive brush strokes. It is a unique, one of a kind piece of art and is signed by the artist.
