"Attempting to tame the wild, But happy to not succeed."
This is a painting of bluebells and mint, both of which are "wild" or "invasive" in my garden, depending on how you look at it. I love painting these quiet, modest bouquets that have a larger story to tell if you know the plants or have a garden of your own. Every year when the bluebells and mint start popping up, I admire their resilience and love them...until I don't.
This piece is created with gouache and graphite pencil and is painted on 100% cotton watercolour paper (140lb).
